The First Giveaway from the Gravy Company

Everybody does it.  All my foodie blog peers do it.  They all give away something really cool once in a while.  I am starting out small.  Only because I love all my readers.  An apron.  Not just any apron.  It is a chef apron with the delicious logo of the Kansas City Gravy Company embroidered on the front.

Here is all you have to do.  Leave a comment answering this question:

What is your favorite summertime dish or drink?

Entries are closed as of Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at midnight.  Please, only one entry per person.  I will name the winner on Thursday morning.  All names will be put into a drawing and Mr. Wii will draw the name out of the bowl.  Real scientific.  Hey, it’s free!  What did you expect?

Sliced tomatoes with olive oil and salt, salami, cheese, fresh bread. Big glass of B.R. Cohn Zinfandel.

  2. Malika says:

Marinated tri-tip on the BBQ! Marinade was inspired by the poo poo platter at Trader Vic's in the 60's.

  3. Lisa says:

My very, very favorite summer time dish is my hubby's grilled steak. We use charcoal to make it taste like it's really been grilled. I coat his steak with lots of different spices and I use KC Masterpiece's Steakhouse Marinade on mine. It just screams SUMMER to me! Oh, we also must have lots of portabello mushrooms and onions to go with!!

Kabobs………..marinated shrimp, chicken, sausage, beef, colorful peppers, onions, mushrooms, pineapple, little red potatos, and (drum roll) artichokes. Each on their own skewer, so you can regulate the cooking, then present on a big ass platter over a bed of rice. Served with mojitos….can see and smell it now!!! the reno sista!!!!

  5. Dean says:

    Pimm's w/ lemonade (& cucumber slice)!

  6. frog says:

I love grilled corn on the cob and my husband's slow grilled chicken.

  7. Mark O says:

Peeled Tri-Tip Steak with the following: EVOO brushed on the meat prior to grilling. Additional seasonings: Quebec Steak Seasoning, pepper to taste, nothing else. Sear each side and then let it cook. Salad? Layered Mozzeralla cheese, beefsteak tomatoes, basil to top with a light Italian vinagrette. Starch? Baked Potato. Vegee? Grilled/Roasted asparagus gently coated with EVOO and sprinkled with pepper. Wine? As much as you can drink — make it red, perhaps a Pinot or Malbec.

  8. Patty Barron says:

Malibu rum and pineapple juice-sitting in the pool-with Pam-sunning!!!!!
    Pick me, pick me!!!!

Dang! I missed the giveaway. I'll make sure I get my name in the hat the next time. Cool prize.

I'll still answer the question: I like anything grilled. I just like the whole mood that comes with grilling. I like standing on my back patio with a drink in hand. I even like the smoke in my eyes.
