Goodbye from the Gravy Girl

cabin

First of all, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for reading this site. It has been a fun experience for me to write and share recipes. But alas, I am moving on. The Gravy Company will close up shop July 2019. This should give you enough time to print your favorite recipes.

Welcome (2)

My husband and I have retired and moved to the woods. It has been a dream of ours for a long time. Both of us were raised in big cities. Growing up, we each spent lots of our time outdoors in the woods, lakes, mountains, and/or the desert. We grew up, met, married, and raised a family in the big city. Our love of the outdoors never left us.

We found our little cabin in the woods three years ago. Each weekend spent there made us fall more in love with the cabin and where it was located. We started rehabbing immediately and are still applying the finishing touches to the place. We loved it so much that we decided to live here full time after retirement.

Because there is so much to do, I have decided to give up the Gravy Company and pursue other things. I volunteer at a food bank/thrift store in our new community. I have learned to make jelly from the grapes growing on our property. We have been kayaking along the shoreline of beautiful Truman Lake and we are exploring Missouri. All the things we did not have the time for, before retirement.

I will keep Kansas City Gravy Company on Facebook. I will add things once in a while. Who knows, maybe I will get energetic and get a cookbook written…it could happen!  Again, many thanks to all of my readers. It was a fun run.

Love and mashed potatoes,

Gravy Girl (aka Darnell Rowden)
